Inks, Drawing Inks & Ecoline for Illustration and Calligraphy

Inks for Drawing, Illustration and Lettering

Inks offer intense color and versatile possibilities for illustration, calligraphy, lettering and experimental mixed-media work. Depending on the product, they vary in transparency, flow, water solubility and compatibility with different tools.

Match the Medium to the Tool

– choose an ink suited to the nib, brush, brush pen or technical tool you plan to use
– select paper according to absorbency and the effect you want
– check water solubility and lightfastness in the product information
– test colors for gradients and mixtures on sample paper first

Whether you use Ecoline, drawing ink or calligraphy ink, the key is how the medium interacts with your paper and tool. Use the product details to compare color properties and recommended applications.
